Museum
Puyo National Museum
The Puyo is an ancient city of the Paekche era (B.C. 18 -
A.D. 660), holding many relics from the prehistoric age. The
National Museum of Puyo was established to play a role in
preservation, investigation, and study and promotion of the
Paekche culture.
It opened as the Relics Preservation Association of Puyo
in 1929. As a leading institute of studying the Paekche culture,
it plays an important role in preserving and developing Korean
traditional culture. Moreover, it takes part in giving educational
opportunities to the general public.
Kongju National Museum
Built in 1972, the Kongju National Museum houses the finest
collection of Paekche artifacts in Korea, including two golden
crowns, part of a coffin, gold, jade and silver ornaments,
bronze mirrors and utensils as well as Bronze Age daggers,
arrowheads and axes, an Iron Age bell and a number of Buddhist
images.
