Kyongju National Museum
The National Museum of Kyongju has excavated many relics over
a long period of time, but in the early stages, the work was
conducted under the management of the National Folk Museum
in Seoul. Since 1970 it has been managing its own excavation
projects.
For example, the Gyelimro ancient tomb, Hwangsong-dong ancient
tomb, and the Wolsongro ancient tomb were discovered as a
result of this research prior to construction of city swellings.
In addition, annual research is continuously carried out
and have resulted in the discovery of the remains of Gujong-dong,
Zoyang-dong, Kyongju, Hufo, and Wookjin. The museum also conducts
studies on earthenware assets, roofing tile, kiln and other
prehistoric remains, and collects base materials on cultural
asset protection.
Daegu National Museum
Located in the southeast part of Korea, Daegu has been a center
of culture where many historical relics can be found. Until
recently, many historical relics have been under the guardianship
of the varying regions separately, but now tourists can see
all those relics in one place, the Daegu National Museum.
Andong Folk Museum
The old house's assets moved from submerged districts of the
Andong Dam and ceremonies of the coming age, like marriage,
funeral and ancestral worship in the middle of confucianism
culture from birth to death are exhibited in this museum.
Also, general life styles, folk customs plays and popular
belief styles are exhibited.
Jikji Songbo Museum
Jikzi means that everybody can become another Buddha in case
he realizes his true presence and his true inner self.
There are a lot of cultural properties and relics in Jikzi
temple, such as Stone pharmacist Maitreya image, Tripitaka
portrait of Buddha, east and west 3-storied stone pagodas
in front of Daewoong hall(Treasure 606), 3-storied stone pagoda
in front of Biro hall(Treasure 607), 3-storied stone pagoda
in front of Chongpoongryo, monument statues, other images
of Buddha and other portraits of Buddha.
