Passsport
A passport is required. Visas are not required for
tourist or business stays of up to thirty days.
Exceptions to this apply to :
1) Persons who have no nationality
2)Citizens from countries which do not have diplomatic
relations with Korea such as Cambodia, Cuba and
Laos,
3)Citizens from China, India, Iran, Mongolia, Myanmar
and so on. For longer stays and other types of travel,
visas must be obtained in advance. Changes of status
from one type of visa to another (from tourism to
teaching, for example) are not normally granted
in Korea.
Identity Cards
Korea residents are required to carry
an identity card. To avoid any possible confusion,
visitors are advised to carry at all times a similar
form of photo identification, such as a passport.
Customs
South Korean customs authorities may enforce
strict regulations concerning temporary importation
into or export from South Korea of items such
as firearms, explosives, narcotics and drugs,
radio equipment, books or other printed material
and video or audio recordings which might be considered
subversive to national security, obscene, or in
any way harmful to the public interest, and cultural
property.
Health
Regulation
No certificate of vaccination
is required for travelling to Seoul even if you
are arriving from an infected area. However, health
regulations are liable to change at short notice,
and it is always advisable to check current health
regulations with carriers when making reservations.
Visitors in transit through Seoul should
also check health regulations for subsequent
destinations, to ensure that all necessary
valid certificates have been obtained.
