Over a span of two millennia, the Korean people have developed
several characteristics that are unique to a peninsula nation
and tend to conform to their topographical features.
The oceanic forces and the continental powers are joined
on the peninsula to form the basis of the Korean character
that underlies the foundation of the nation's history, culture
and the arts.
Perhaps for this reason, Koreans generally seek balance and
harmony in nature and man, and love peace. Like their rising
mountains and deep rivers, they are at once peaceloving and
dynamic, and compassionate and diligent.
