Namdaemun Market
If you want to know about Korea in just a few days,
then you must visit the Namdaemun Market. It's the largest
Korean traditional market where the feeling of human
touch remains. Namdaemun market is named after Namdaemun
Gate(currently called sungnyemun), Korea's first national
treasure.
It's proximity to the downtown area and to many deluxe
hotels makes it popular among foreign visitors and local
residents. The market's greatest merit is that you can
buy a wide range of products at a lower price than in
other shopping area of Seoul. Since each small shop
does its own manufacturing, prices can be 10-20% lower
than in other shopping areas. Its crowded streets are
lined with tiny shops that sell virtually everything
imaginable.
